Awarding organisations

There are 11 awarding organisations involved in the functional skills pilot. Each has a different assessment approach and may not offer assessments for all levels and/or subjects.

The following overview is a quick-reference guide to the awarding organisations offering functional skills qualifications in 2009/10. It has been designed to help centres participating in the functional skills pilot in 2009/10 to choose their functional skills awarding organisations.

Many of the awarding organisations provide comprehensive information on their own websites, including sample assessment materials, case studies and FAQs. They also provide information on registering as one of their pilot centres and training available from them.
